Happy Hallowe'en! Hope you are having a great half term with your kids- Jack gets the whole week off. I know many schools only get a couple of days. I haven't got any spooky dress-up photos because my husband and I spent the weekend battling the tummy bug the boys had during the week. Minus-craic! The boys stayed at their grannies and we definitely didn't party. At 9 months pregnant I suppose I wasn't going to be partying too hard anyway!
We're finally all on the mend and we have been continuing to enjoy the fine weather and I am still bedazzled by the beautiful low, golden sun and the stunning foliage. It is so spectacular.
The dog gives not a crap about golden hour. She's just delighted to be out for walkies. She just wishes she wasn't forced to stop scampering about and wear a mane of leaves sculpted for her by her creativily starved master on maternity leave.
The clocks went back at the weekend. Granny will have to deal with the early risers, thought I, smugly. It was true. But they fell asleep an hour earlier last night which meant we had the pleasure of a 6am start this morning. It always takes a few days to adjust to the time change. Damn you daylight savings. Disrupting bedtime since 1985.
So, it's pitch black by 5pm again. So sad. But the one thing I love about this is getting the fire lit and into jammies and slippers (providing you don't have evening plans.) The boys love this too. It's so cozy!
Dotty Fish kindly sent the boys some little slippers to try. Check them out!
Noah wears the Jurassic Jake pair and Jack is wearing the Tan Suede Slippers. Both are soft soled (so are suitable for either prams or indoors) and they're very cozy. Particularly the fur lined slippers Jack is wearing. With an elasticated cuff at the ankle, these stay on very well.
Dotty Fish was founded by Helen Chapman in 2006.
A mum of two, Helen found it very difficult to find reasonably priced baby shoes. So she created Dotty Fish, specialising in stylish and affordable shoes for babies, tots and small kids. Over the years they have carried on expanding, adding many more designs, so there is something for everyone!

Do you hate shoes on the sofa? These might be your answer as the evenings get cooler and your little ones need something heavier on their feet. My kids are up and down on the couch so much I couldn't let myself get mad about it ("this is why we can't have nice things!") but I found these a good addition to a pair of socks to keep their feet warm against cold tiles. Thanks so much to Dotty Fish!
