Bank Holiday Weekend

Tapete Jumper    /    Uniqlo Jeans    /    Toms Shoes

It's a bank holiday here, so we're out and about enjoying the mild (yet typically fickle) Irish weather. Will it be warm, a little chilly, rain or shine? Well, all of the above, daily, actually. So every day I carry suncream and raincoats to be on the safe side.

Noah is well on his feet now, and has been for a few weeks. He's loving it. He's also getting a right little 'tude on him. It's actually kind of funny when he's being downright petulant. But I know that wont last so it's time for the excuse "he's just a baby, he doesn't know what he's doing" to stop, and some discipline to begin. Says the Mama who almost had her nose broken this morning when he got cross and whacked me with a hard plastic toy. Jack will be glad of this as all I hear at the moment is "Mummmmy, Noah is bothering me!" To be fair, Noah seems to really enjoy bothering Jack. He's a bit of a wind up merchant.

The boys looked so comfortable in their Toms today that they inspired me to dig mine out too. Jack and Noah really make them look good. Plus, Ickle baby Toms are the cutest! Isn't Jack getting so tall? Look at him - he's over half the height of me!

We haven't achieved much in our two weeks off, so far. It's been blissfully slow and relaxing. However, Jack has learned to write his name - just in time to start school. We have 3 picnics to attend this coming week, we're looking forward to that, so long may this mild weather continue.

The Butterflies are Free

An Irish Blessing
May the wings of the butterfly kiss the sun.
And find your shoulder to light on.
To bring you luck, happiness and riches.
Today, tomorrow and beyond.

The summer holidays have just begun, and we're as free as butterflies for two whole months. Well, sort of. Speaking of butterflies, yesterday morning, as I was getting the boys ready, this little critter flew in the window. It caused all sorts of excitement for Jack, who learned the life cycle of a butterfly at nursery and rhymed it all off like a little David Attenborough.

I can't believe Jack's year at nursery has come to an end. He seemed so little when I first led him in by the hand, tiny baby brother in tow, and he hid timidly behind my leg. In the blink of an eye he's turned into this big, clever, confident boy who will be starting primary school in September! How quickly the terms flew in. I had such a wonderful year, and I know Jack did too. I'm sad it's over, but... onwards and upwards. Flutterby Butterfly!

Hope all your little ones are getting excited for upcoming holidays and fun in the sun. Here's what we have been up to since nursery ended.

1.Screaming contest, everybody wins! (Except Mummy!)
2. Holly, my new fluffy niece!
3. Stands of him
4. Good morning
5. Homemade ice lolly
6. Cowgirl
7. This tiresome heat
8. Lazy summers days
