Threenager

That angelic smile is covering up a phase I wish would end with my whole being. For two weeks now, Jack can only be described as a threenager. Stroppy, apathetic, whingey, and downright rude. We've clawed our way through this sort of phase before, so I'm clinging to the hope that this too shall pass, but boy oh boy, he is trying my patience right now.

It has been suggested to me that maybe there is something 'working on him'. Well, there is a bug going round at the moment which has hit my husband, and little Noah too. Today, I have been struck down and it's not fun. So, I've decided to give Jack here the benefit of the doubt and try and put the memories of this walk to the back of my mind. Yes, he did pretty much throw a tantrum the entire way. Sigh.

On this adventure, Noah wore a vintage Mothercare snowsuit that I spotted in the Rusty Zip (you wont miss him in it) and an H&M striped beanie. Tantrums McGroo wore his Ingugu hat, Robot coat from the House of Fraser Name It range, Zara cords, Barbour Scarf, and Classic Hunter kids wellies.

Now, listen to how long I can cry at the top of my lungs the whole way home. Suckas.

  1. I can completely relate to the Threenager times. I have one of those and an 18 month that already thinks it's time for the terrible twos! x

  2. Both my girls were angels at two, three and four. Then they started to argue over toys and such. :) Great pics, I love how you work with the light. <3

  4. Aww, lovely photos. You would never know Jack was 'having a moment or two'. I hope it passes and that you all feel much better soon. The bug hit our household last weekend. Ugh!

  5. It's horrible on those days when kids decide they just want to be uncooperative and unfriendly. The walk still looks beautiful and the weather looks like it behaved for you. Thanks for linking up with Country Kids.

  6. It looks like a beautiful walk and hopefully the threenager phase will turn out to be entirely related to a cold and very short lived!

  14. Oh goodness, I hear you! I wrote a post a little while ago about Freddie being a Threenager, and whilst I feel for you going through a tough time, I'm also really glad it's not just me! It's reassuring to hear from others going through this and realise it's just a phase. F seems his worst when he's sickening for something, or has been really busy and therefore tired. Hoping you come out of this soon! #ordinarymoments

  15. Oh I feel for you here - my eldest is going through the 'threenager' stage at the moment and it is hard work sometimes. Hope this phase passes quickly for Jack. Love Noah's snowsuit! :-)

  17. I have a blog post brewing on the similarities between toddlers and teenagers... I definitely reckon they're more alike than people would think for all sorts of reasons! I hope this phase passes quickly for you though - doesn't sound like much fun x

  19. Threenager! Love this terminology! Darcie is two, but can totally relate - she is always like this on a Monday night after spending the day at Nursery. I think she picks up a lot of naughty behaviour from the old kids in her room - God help me come school age!! Beautiful pictures too.

  22. Terrible twos are nothing on the threes in my experience! Really love to push your buttons at three! Despite all the fuss you've caught some amazing moments on camera and you'd never know he was tantruming most of the way! Little one looks just adorable in his yellow outfit!xx
